Our world has become increasingly dependent on technology.  The effect that it has had on education is astounding.  Entire courses are available at a child’s fingertips. This has helped those who homeschool with a wide variety of resources.  Teaching Textbooks Math 4.0 from Teaching Textbooks is one such resource that our family has been given the opportunity to review.

Teaching Textbooks Math 4.0 is a digital course that allows children an entire year access to interactive lessons.  Courses are available from grades 3 through high school level courses such as Algebra, Geometry and Pre-Calc.

The cost of Teaching Textbooks Math 4.0 ranges from $43 to $67 per course.  However, for larger families, to help combat costs, the total annual cost is $199.08.  This gives access to 4 to 8 users at this cost.

Teaching Textbooks Math 4.0 has a Parent Portal that allows the parent access to the Grade Book, The EBook, as well as the ability to manage courses.

The Grade Book allows the parent to quickly see how the student has performed on lessons, as well as the ability to delete answers.  Deleting incorrect answers allows the student the ability to redo problems they have missed.

Inside the Gradebook, the parent can view the lessons in-depth to see if the child viewed the hint, used the second chance or viewed the solution.  This helped me gauge if my children were actually trying.

I have three children who used Teaching Textbooks Math 4.0.  My youngest was enrolled in the 5th grade course, my middle child was enrolled in the 6th grade course, and my oldest was enrolled in the Pre-Algebra course.

Math 5 has 114 lessons and 16 quizzes. Content includes equations, decimals, fractions, etc.

Math 6 has 116 lessons and 19 quizzes.  Content includes fractions, the metric system, and other key concepts.

Pre-Algebra has 139 lessons and 17 quizzes.  Content includes inequalities, negative numbers, and polynomials.

My children loved Teaching Textbooks Math 4.0.  They loved the independence it provided them.  I loved that there was very little effort needed from me, yet I was still aware of what they were doing through the Parent Portal.

During the review period, there were no issues with glitches from within the program.  Which is rare for digital products.

I loved the digital book that I could download and print.  This allows me to go over information with my children for lessons that they struggle with. Practice problems are also included with this.

Overall, Teaching Textbooks Math 4.0 has been an amazing add to our homeschool classroom.
